A new report from the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education reveals how alcohol and gambling companies are using data-driven marketing to target Australians at an “industrial scale”, with few safeguards in place to protect those at risk of harm.
It comes amid concerns the federal government may not pursue a total ban on online gambling ads, due in part to the hope the forthcoming under 16s social media ban will limit exposure.
