Carah is Director of the Digital Cultures and Societies Hub in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Associate Professor in the School of Communication and Arts at The University of Queensland. His research examines the algorithmic and participatory advertising model of digital media platforms, with a focus on digital alcohol marketing. He is currently a Chief Investigator on ARC projects examining machine vision, digital media and advertising, and an Associate Investigator in the Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society.
